LICENSING

Every photograph is licensed individually. Open any image in the archive and select License to see its price, calculated from how, where, and for how long you plan to use it.

What the photograph is used for - a website, a printed publication, a display, an internal document. Some use types ask a follow-up question, such as where an image sits on a page or in a book.

Where the use will reach - Australia, Australia and New Zealand, or worldwide. A wider territory reflects a wider audience for the same image.

How long the use will run. Short campaigns cost less than a use that stays live for a year or longer.

Need several images across one project, or a use this calculator doesn't cover? Get in touch and we'll work out the right terms directly.

Activation window. You must start using a licensed image within 12 months of purchase. If you haven't used it by then, the licence lapses.

Ongoing use. Once a use has started, it continues for the licensed duration at no extra cost. A new licence is only needed for a new use, not to continue an existing one.

Declaring your use. The use you select at checkout is what the licence covers. Using the same image for a different purpose, publication, or placement requires a separate licence.

Updated photographs. Re-photographed locations at a later date require a new licence. Existing licences cover only the image purchased at the time.

Transferability. No licence permits passing rights to a third party unless agreed in writing. Issued to the purchasing entity only.

Copyright enforcement. Unlicensed use is billed at commercial rates for the closest matching use type and territory, or higher for major advertising.

AI & Machine Learning. Images, metadata, and coordinates may not be scraped, bulk downloaded, or used to train AI/ML systems under any licence.
